I believe the basic attribute of mankind is to look after each other. Abahizi Rwanda does this better than anyone. AOG INGENZI was contracted to facilitate training on business and health topics to Abahizi employees. Through that, I noticed how, beyond creating decent jobs for women, Abahizi social enterprise invests more in transforming the Masoro community while the employees dedicate fully to their work as well as learning. Today, I share their unique story wherever I am given a platform.

We are grateful for such an impactful partnership with Abahizi Rwanda ever since we started operating in Masoro. Our mission of empowering Women in Masoro stands in alignment with Abahizi Rwanda and 30% of our program beneficiaries are Abahizi Rwanda artisans! This partnership has contributed a lot to the social-economic growth of the women in our programs and in the Masoro community.

Abahizi Rwanda has been a key social impact handbag partner to Kate Spade New York for over 8 years. We are proud of handbags we make in Rwanda and partnering with Abahizi Rwanda to empower the women who make those handbags and community they call home

The aspect I liked best about working with Abahizi is the people. They are an intelligent, capable and resilient team, who are willing to learn and adapt. This makes working with them a pleasure and not a job. Our core competency being lean manufacturing, we understand and appreciate that Abahizi is the only factory in Rwanda that has adopted this route. They have adapted to the methods and continue to do so regularly. Lean continuously evolves and Abahizi is evolving every day with the deeper participation in these methodologies. I wish them all success in being the leader, not just in Rwanda, but all of Africa.
